Recycling the goods we consume , and their packaging, helps to reduce the amount of waste and lessen the burden on our land fills. We can further help to complete the recycling chain by purchasing products that are created from, or contain, recycled materials, thus using less “virgin” resources.

“Reuse” is a term in which items can be reused by repairing, selling or donating them to others, or finding other uses for them. Additionally, products that are intentionally designed for reuse and with non-toxic and/or biodegradable materials can be safely made into new products, or when discarded can possibly even be used to nourish the earth (see the book Cradle to Cradle).

Please visit the web sites listed to learn more, and to find out where the recycling and reuse locations are in your area, for anything from paper goods, to windows, to car batteries.
