5th ANNUAL FAMILY FESTIVAL & SLEEPOVER UNDER THE STARS

Ready for some good, old-fashioned, outdoor, summer FUN? On Saturday, June 13th, you won’t want to miss our rollicking BBQ and campout at the Claudio Marzollo Community Center of Philipstown in Garrison. All proceeds from these events benefit the Haldane School Foundation and The Garrison Children's Education Fund in support of environmental programming in our schools. WHEN:
Saturday, June 13th (campout ends 11:00am June14th)
Doors open at 4:00pm
BBQ at 5:30pm

WHERE:
The Claudio Marzollo Community Center of Philipstown
(aka Philipstown Recreation Center)
107 Glenclyffe Drive, Garrison, NY

GOOD FOOD:
Burgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, potato salad, cole slaw, fresh organic green salad (with lettuce from Second Wind CSA), hummus and pita, watermelon, lemonade, iced tea, water

Campout breakfast will include juice, coffee, tea, bagels & spreads, cereals, fruit and yogurt

GOOD MUSIC:
Musical set especially for kids featuring Stacy Labriola & Friends
Rollicking bluegrass band No Brakes
Folk artist Margaret Vetare
...and a mish mash of Philipstown's finest campout musicians leading the sing-along at the Sleep Over Under the Stars!

GOOD FUN:
Lots of fun outdoor activities including soccer, hula hooping with Judy, and giant bubbles as well as a raffle with great prizes including:

  • a kayak from Hudson Valley Outfitters,
  • a family photo shoot from Photography by Frank Famularo, and
  • a summer veggie bounty basket from Second Wind CSA!

Festival admission (inc. BBQ dinner) is:

  • $10 in advance / $15 at the door per individual
  • $25 in advance / $30 at the door per family
  • $50 per family for Sleep Over Under the Stars admission (includes the Festival, BBQ dinner & breakfast)

Stay for a Sleep Over Under the Stars!
Immediately following the festival, families are invited to campout, enjoy a good old-fashioned sing-along that evening, breakfast in the morning and a few fun surprises along the way. All camping families must pre-register.

These events are sponsored by Turner Construction Company and generously supported by Hudson Valley Outfitters, Photography by Frank Famularo, and Second Wind CSA.

These events are graciously hosted by the Philipstown Recreation Department and Open Space Institute.

4th Annual Family Festival -- Summer FUN at its best . . .

If you missed the 2008 HHLT Family Festival, you missed quite a party -- the weather, music, and food all conspired to make it a summer afternoon to remember. More than 400 residents and visitors of all ages joined us at beautiful Philipstown Park to enjoy the music of Stacy Labriola, Peter Rundquist & Al Hemberger, as well as Poughkeepsie bluegrass band NO BRAKES, have a terrific BBQ dinner, and enjoy the outdoors. An incredible 164 campers stayed to Sleep Over Under the Stars too!
