Peter Gergely, M.D. has been lucky to have lived in Highland Falls since 1984, when he moved there to serve out his Army Medical Corps service at Keller Army Hospital as a pediatrician. Four years later, he bought his dream house and decided to stay for good. He maintains a bustling pediatric practice in Garrison. Pete helped found the Hudson Highlands Coalition for Public Representation (HHCPR) in the Town of Highlands, of which he remains the Chairperson. He joined the Land Trust board of directors in 2008. "Over the years, I’ve seen the bad results of poor planning and horrendous development and also the good results of careful conservation and open space preservation," he says. "I joined HHLT with the hope of connecting both banks of the Hudson with our common goal of protecting its beauty."
